About the event
We all grieve differently. And that’s okay.
In the story, Tarc, a soft and wise forest creature, meets a group of children who have all experienced loss in their own way. Some are quiet. Some are angry. Some cry every day, while others don’t cry at all. Through kind conversations and calm moments, Tarc helps each child see that there’s no "right" way to grieve—and that whatever they're feeling is valid.
The book is meant to be read with children—by caregivers, parents, teachers, or support workers—as a way to open up conversations about grief. It can help children:
Feel less alone in their experience
Understand that grief looks different for everyone
Know it’s okay to talk about the person or thing they’ve lost
